Project Overview
Rising in downtown Sacramento, the new Sacramento Criminal Courthouse is a major civic investment, spanning approximately 550,000 square feet across 18 stories and accommodating 53 courtrooms. Occupying a full city block, the facility is designed to bring together the court’s criminal and civil functions in a single, centralized location.
The building is being developed to meet LEED Silver standards, reflecting a focus on sustainability alongside performance and functionality. Beyond the courtrooms, the program includes a large jury assembly space, a civil settlement center, and a mechanical penthouse, supported by fully integrated electrical, mechanical, telecommunications, audiovisual, and security systems.
Architecturally, the structure is defined by a polished architectural precast concrete façade by Clark Pacific, giving the courthouse a durable and refined civic presence. Once completed, it will replace and consolidate operations currently spread across three separate facilities, improving efficiency, accessibility, and overall user experience for the region’s judicial system.
