Project Overview
This four-story headquarters facility, situated within Alameda’s Harbor Bay Business Park, was delivered as a design-build project for Exelixis, an expanding oncology-focused life sciences company. The project team aligned early with both the developer and tenant to execute a cost-efficient, high-performance building solution while integrating scalable telecommunications infrastructure to support the company’s evolving operational demands.
Spanning approximately 220,000 square feet, the building features an open, flexible floor plan designed to accommodate future reconfiguration, advanced lab/office integration, and continuous technology upgrades. A key component of the design-build approach was the coordination and deployment of structured cabling systems, backbone infrastructure, and pathway distribution to enable robust data, voice, and wireless connectivity throughout the facility. This forward-thinking telecommunications framework ensures long-term adaptability, supporting both current bandwidth requirements and future expansion.
The new headquarters complements three existing Exelixis buildings along Harbor Bay Parkway, collectively forming a cohesive campus environment. Interconnected through a unified communications and infrastructure strategy, the campus provides a range of collaborative workspaces, conference rooms, and training environments. This integrated approach enhances connectivity, operational efficiency, and the overall user experience, positioning the campus to support continued innovation and growth.
